FlatNote is built to keep your writing private. This policy explains what that means in practice.
Nothing. FlatNote does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
Your notes are stored as plain .md files on your device. If
you are signed in to iCloud, those files are also kept in your personal
iCloud account so they sync across your own devices. This sync is handled
entirely by Apple's iCloud. Your notes are never sent to any server operated
by FlatNote, because there is no such server.
When iCloud Documents is enabled, Apple stores and syncs your note files under your Apple ID. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. FlatNote has no access to your iCloud account or its contents beyond the app's own document folder on your own devices.
When you choose to export or share a note, the file goes only where you send it using the standard share sheet (for example, Files, Finder, Mail, or another app you pick). FlatNote does not see or keep a copy of where you send it.
FlatNote does not collect data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
